Early Student Dismissal
Since there are many homes in which no adult is present during the
school day, closing the schools early is only considered in an extreme
emergency. When early dismissal of students becomes necessary, parents
should do the following:
- If you will not be home, you should make arrangements for your
children to stay with relatives or neighbors, or to have access to a
house key. Please discuss "emergency plans" with your children early in
the school year so that your child is prepared with several
alternatives
- If you have a special needs child, a form is available at school for you to complete with instructions for dismissing your child in an emergency.
- If you come to school to pick up your children, you must report to the main office or the person in charge.
- Please do not telephone the school during an emergency and tie
up telephone lines, but rather, listen to the local radio stations!
Thank you!
